I’m Jason Kemp, an app developer specializing in iOS and Apple Watch apps, particularly in fitness and health.
I have over 15 years experience designing and developing client-side applications. I’ve shipped apps on Windows, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Android and iOS.
Successful apps must be useful, correct and clear. I can help make your app a success.
If you’re looking for that kind of help, you should go to this website.
Personal Projects
To stay fresh and scratch my own itches, I have several ongoing projects where I am responsible for everything: code, design, assets, copy etc. I aspire to be a technical polymath. When I started nearly two decades ago, that was much easier than it is today.
Writing
I’ve been writing online since 2004, across three blogs. Two are now defunct, but still on the internet for all to enjoy.
- a geek trapped in a cool guy’s body
This is where all my writing ends up, or starts with. I write about what I want, but it’s mostly about apps. - a geek trapped in a cool guy’s body, version 1
This is where it all started. It was a blog about whatever, but was mostly about .NET app development. Noticing a trend? I stopped writing on this one in 2008. - a geek trapped in the kitchen
I got into cooking. Then I got into writing about cooking and making my own recipes. I may return to it someday. Everyone loves the Holiday Brussels Sprouts and the Bacon-wrapped Dates. This one is still my favourite: The Best Moments In Life, In Cooking.
Apps
- MysticMatch
This one was purely for the fun of it. I created it to practice what I thought were good practices to writing an app. It’s a little too fancy, looking back. I intend to come back to it. It’s free. - My After
I started this one with the same intention of MysticMatch, to learn; but it turned out well enough that I’m trying to make a go of making it successful. I write about developing this one here. I codenamed it Project Kapowski. I decided all future projects will be codenamed for characters in Saved By The Bell.
